Downtown Harderwijk

Shopping in Harderwijk is delightful. The city center of Harderwijk offers a good and varied selection of shops. Of course, the well-known chain stores are present as well. But it's the mix with smaller independent entrepreneurs that makes Harderwijk a pleasant city to shop in. Gems of stores where you can find something different than the usual mainstream items. 'Local heroes' with charming boutiques, beautiful (fresh) specialty stores, and innovative interior shops.

The Veluwe Lake

Harderwold Golf Course

Visit the renovated 9-hole course at the Veluwemeer! A varied and challenging course with beautiful water features. Suitable for both beginners and more experienced golfers. You can purchase either a green fee or a multi-ride card.

Beach island Harderwijk

Just a stone's throw away from the beautiful, historic city center lies Strandeiland in Harderwijk. An island with a lovely sandy beach that invites you to take off your shoes and walk into the Wolderwijd with your bare feet. Deliciously refreshing after a day of shopping.

Climbing forest Ermelo

Climbing forest Ermelo has been a well-known attraction on the Veluwe for 15 years. From a special kids course to the toughest course in the Netherlands! Climbing forest Ermelo offers the right challenge for everyone (from 1.00m) spread out over 9 spectacular courses. New this year is the course "The Falcon". This is our flagship with a 70-meter long zipline over the road and obstacles across the parking lot. This course is included in all packages starting from 1.30m and does not cost anything extra!

Sheepfold Ermelo

The sheepfold in Ermelo is one of the largest in the Netherlands. Every day, the flock of sheep (with the rare Veluws Heideschaap breed) grazes under the guidance of shepherd Marion Derks on the Ermelosche Heide. In the visitor center next to the sheepfold, you can find information on when the flock will return and where they are currently located. So it is not a problem to walk to the flock yourself.

Burg Bieren

Come and visit Burg Bieren in Ermelo and discover over 3,000 different beers from all over the world. Countries such as the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, America, Japan, Spain, Italy, Scotland and England are all represented in our beer assortment. Our beer shop is a delight for true beer lovers. With an area of 400m2 you have plenty of space to wander among the beery shelves and take your time to choose from our wide range.

Mountain bike trails

The surroundings of Ermelo and Harderwijk are home to beautiful heathlands, challenging sand drifts, and unique forest areas. There are wonderful mountain bike trails through the Strokelbos and the Ermelose heath where you can still see burial mounds and one of the largest sheep pens in Gelderland with around 300 sheep.
